I'm blogging, I am really blogging!

Ok I admit it has been a while since I last updated, lots has happened since then but not to bore you with all the details I thought I would instead share this delightful shawl I have just finished.

It is called Ishbel and is from a very talented designer called Ysolda Teague, there are nearly 10,000 Ishbel's on Ravelry so it's a rather popular design and after making it I can see why.

For me it is just the right size to wear like a neckerchief and nice and small to pop round your shoulders in the office when it gets a little chilly!

I made it using a 4ply/sock wool from Fyberspates and it has turned out lovely, I still have about a third of the wool left too!

I have also just finished test knitting a skirt for a designer on Ravelry but I have yet to sew in the elastic so photos to come soon of it being modelled by the lovely Evie.

So yeah that is it, going to spend the rest of the day relaxing and baking and also mourning the fact my mac screen is broken and has a huge crack down it!

Have a lovely Sunday everyone :)

Here they are looking gorgeous...
and here is me and Ollie all jazzed up...

This is mam's fascinator I made her...

Now for the card/book I have spent most of last night making...nothing like last minute crafting!

They loved it and I left space to put in pictures from today. Well it has been a long but lovely day, I really need to chill out and maybe do a little knitting :)

A productive few days!

Hello everyone!

I have been quite busy lately but I seem to be getting lots of knitting finished, not sure if I am getting quicker, if I picked up projects which were almost finished or the fact I am making smaller items such as hats :) which means that I am feeling rather productive! I also finished my eyelet shawl for mam and dads vow renewal on Sunday, it blocked beautifully and matches my dress perfectly....very happy with myself as this is my first ever shawl!

In the space of this week so far I have finished my page cardigan after leaving it on the floor over a week waiting to be sewn together, a hat for Ollie and a hat for me. I managed to do the hats each in a few hours which is great...especially the one I knit for me, soooo pleased with that :)

Here they are...

My hat...
Ollie's hat...

Page cardigan...

Eyelet shawl...

Thats all for now, currently working on my second owls jumper, a few christmas presents and some socks for Evie which I feel like I will never finish despite the fact she has tiny 3 year old feet he he

Progress...

I finally feel like I am making some progress with the knitting at the moment :) Finished the front of page after a little break and my shawl I am knitting is coming along nicely. I wasn't anticipating on knitting a shawl at the moment but my mam and dad are renewing their wedding vows for their 40th wedding anniversary in 20 days time and of course I could not find a thing to go over my dress.

There were lots and lots of lovely patterns suggested to me on Ravelry but in the end I stuck with something in a dk yarn which is quite simple and I am very pleased as it is working up a treat.

For the rest of the week the plan is to try and finish the shawl so I can block it and have it all ready for the day and hopefully continue with page and get it finished by the weekend :)

Watch out for some beady goodness coming soon, I have 2 fascinators to make so I will post pictures once I have finished them!!

This weekend I have been mostly...

...knitting! Well there's a surprise!

I am currently working on the gorgeous Page from the new Kim Hargreaves book 'Cherished' and oooh its beautiful and I love it lots and lots :) In the space of the day I have knit the whole back which isn't bad going considering that it is not just stocking stitch, it actually has an interesting pattern!

At the moment I just seem to be knitting things that require lots of stocking stitch so I am having a bit of 'death by stocking stitch' syndrome, I thought that this jacket would resolve that as would some lovely thick cabled socks!

Maybe I should also start to think about christmas presents? Too much knitting and too little time is what I find at the moment so I am kind of being a bit selfish and knitting things for me that I no longer want but 'need'! he he

Here is a little look at how Page is shaping up...

Ravelry books and more swap

This month I have taken part in a swap on Ravelry and this is what arrived for me the other day...

I received the lovely New England Knits a few weeks ago and it is fabulous, I also received a Dr Seuss bag, pencil and pencil sharpener (with rubber!), 2 bars of yummy looking chocolate with sea salt…I am really looking forward to trying this later! A lovely handmade personalised owl notebook, an owl takeaway cup warmer, a gorgeous felted button, some amazing earrings made from knitting needles, 2 skeins of gorgeous sedona for the brattleboro hat and some temptation yarn too.

Just thought I would share all the lovely goodies!

Owl jumper!!

Hello everyone,

Long time since I last wrote but I have been very busy on the ol' knitting front :) This is my latest woolly offering...

It is the owls jumper by Kate Davies and the pattern can be bought here, it is such a great pattern and a really speedy and satisfying knit! I knit this jumper in Rowan Cocoon, shade Tundra, which is a really delicious yarn and I can't wait to make something else in it...guess it is a good thing I have just bought the new Rowan magazine as there are loads of designs in there using Cocoon he he
